Nickel gap refers to a style of paneling that is characterized by the uniform gap between each plank, roughly the thickness of a nickel.

Q: What is nickel gap tongue and groove?

Nickel gap tongue and groove consists of boards that fit together using a tongue and groove system. This allows for a tight fit while creating a uniform gap. If the front side is used, it will provide a nickel gap; if the back side is used, you will be able to achieve a tight stack.

Shiplap typically features overlapping boards with visible fasteners. Shiplap generally requires two visible fasteners, one at the top and one at the bottom.
